Thousands of students across the United States have participated in fierce and urgent discussions and engaged in an amazing learning process with "A Jihad for Love" accompanied by filmmaker Parvez Sharma. These lecture/town hall screenings take students and faculty into a surprising world of an Islam that is poetic and erotic and sensual and dogmatic at the same time.
In his inimitable style Parvez takes the audiences through a riveting journey at breakneck speeds through 14 centuries of Islamic history!

Hi Parvez,
Maybe you will not remember me but I used to study Eng Hons with you at Presidency College way back in 1991-94. I read the interview which appeared in Mumbai's Mid-day (and also read your post where you clarfied the misquotes) on 1 August.
Sunando (remember him?) showed it to me. We are both married (to each other) and are staying in Mumbai with our two daughters. He is working with the Times of India and I teach in a nearby college as well as do some copywriting stuff.
It was very exciting to read about you and your travels and your film. It seems very adventurous and courageous, especially when compared to my sedate lifestyle. I missed the NDTV showings, but I definitely hope to watch the film, perhaps when the DVD is out.
Going through your blog, it looks as if you live on a dangerous edge. Take care, and all the best for your next 'different' film.
