Hi Parvez,
I had mailed you about watching your film. Guess you are busy.
Am a reporter from a Bangalore-base newspaper - Deccan Herald and would like to talk to you about your engagement with an area that few would unlikely speak about.
Please do reply to my mail. Mainstream papers in India, as you know, are not just homophobic but cringe on publishing anything to do with Islam. But I've spoken to my Sunday magazine editor and managed to convince her that a bold, radical expression on homosexuality among Muslim women and men, needs to be "spoken and written about".
Parvez...I've struggled with this identity by engaging with the LGBT groups here. My earnestness in writing about your film and your painstaking efforts in bringing together dialogues so honestly brought out, is quite strong.
Please take some time off and do reply. I'll mail you the questions.
Thanks.
Allahın laneti sizin ve lut kavmi gibilerinin üzerine olsun.
